as title really, got a stage 4 charger and was wondering if there was a way i could possibly make it louder, running stabdard airbox with K@n filter
-
fit toothies, fit induction kit, fit g60 charger, fit eaton.
-
friend of mine said some about removing the plastic trumpet thing from the air box would make it louder?
-
not really - just mean it'll have more hot air in the airbox
-
ok im a newbie to these cars, i know is has vw twin v belt on it at the mo, what difference would the other belts make as to charger noise etc?
-
As Pete said; you can fit toothies nd you'll feel the difference in noise level
Cheers

been looking into this, but would i have to rebuild my charger more often? say every 15k?
-
Depends how hard you drive. As long as you dont drive with your foot down everywhere and bounce off the rev limiter it will last at last 20k. My original charger did 93k without a rebuild on normal pulleys.
I get mine done when its starts spitting oil out as mines a weekend car.
My current charger lasted nearly 8k but it was due to a bearing cage failing or something, pete knows as he found it while rebuilding it. Its done 6k since and it fine.
Before the cage failing i had the seals fail after i used some engine flush crap, wont be using that again. That had done 12k i think.
Depends on lots of things really.

ok that doesnt sound to bad, is there is big noticeable difference with toothed belts? im looking at bartek ones at the moment! is there a increase of power with them or more just like a constant pull with boost etc
-
They prevent belt slip and will increase boost pressure slightly as the belts dont slip.
They sound very different and give a nice whine to the car.
