Turbo charging and supercharging
« on: February 03, 2011, 02:40:26 pm »
Cant remember if this has been a topic before but i was wondering is it possible to run a g40 thats turbocharged and supercharged?

Maybe not with the g-lader as room would be tight.

I guess the question would be why? I'm not well versed on this sort of thing, but I presume you would be fitting a huge turbo and using the supercharger to get rid of lag? But with small turbos with little lag making 200bhp, how much more power do you want in the Mk3 Polo?

I think it is possible definatly but would take alot of time and effort and mainly money to get working correctly the amount of time money and effort would be better spent on a car that could handle alot more power , a 1.4 tsi would be another viable option but again I doubt you would gain enough to make it worthwhile over a k03 or other similar turbo conversion to be honest.
And I agree with cheys how much power can a polo handle before coming undrivabpe on the road and without alot of chassis strengthening work not to mention the lack of grip, transmission strength and other related problems.

there's a guy here in portugal that is building a turbo and an eaton together.

you can check it here. you can have an idea of the ongoing project, but wont understand whats writen.
http://g40power.forumeiros.com/t8p30-braveduck-kt40

it all started after he fliped 8 times with his first G! after that he bought the GT that shows on the topic.

it has been a nice project, but i don't know if he will get any advantage of using an eaton with a turbo. but he's the man behind the project, he might have a point!
