idle controll.
« on: February 18, 2009, 11:04:57 am »
Orite guys am after some advice.  My g40 has been running perfect since i got it a month ago until yesterday.  I always go out and start it 5 mins before i leave in order to warm it up but yesterday i started it and by the time i got back out it was stopped, started it again and realised it would not idle.  The revs used to sit at just below a thousand revs perfectly however they now drop off to near 500rpm and then starts to splutter and stall.  Do you think it is just a matter of adjusting the idle controll screw my only problem with that thinking is why would it suddenly need adjusted now.cheers for any thoughtsGrant.

sounds like a knackered air valve.  This is the pod bolted to the top of the water pipe under the lnlet manifold.  Taking it off and soaking it in petrol to clean it can help.
