170 bhp supercharged engine - parting out
« on: October 27, 2014, 08:20:24 pm »
Time to say goodbye to my 170bhp supercharged lump. No interest in the full conversion, so it's getting parted out. Plus a few other bits and pieces up for sale.

I'm moving house and spending less time on the cars due to my new job, so rather than it all just sit on the shelf, it's time the bits started helping others go faster (or lower - if that's your bag!)

Most of the parts have reciepts.

Work was done on head/block 800 miles ago.

Ported/flowed head, new valve and guides, gaskets, seals at engine rebuild, painted silver
Thinner metal headgasket - £350
Rebuilt block - new oil pump, new rings, all bottom end shells, seals, gaskets etc.
Block painted red - £450
Schrick 272 Camshaft with vernier pulley. - £220 - prov. sold
GT manifold port matched to head - £70
51mm throttle body - £200
G60 green injectors - £50
Jabba induction kit and heatshield £100
PSD 4 branch exhaust manifold - £350
Stage 4 full blend charger - £500 (G-lader serviced June 2012, oil seals and apex seals with fresh klubber grease and new gates belt. done 10k)
Sub 60k Jabba R1 ported charger - Rebuilt and run in with 600 miles - £550
65mm PSD Alloy Toothed Belts - £200 - prov. sold
Custom mapped at PSD map, 170bhp. - £100
Alternator £80 - NOS VAG, done 4k
Starter Motor £25
ECU £100
Engine Loom £100
Dizzy £50
PSD Rear SS Silencer - £150
PSD SS Midbox Silencer & Pipe - £100
FK Coilovers - stripped back, primed and painted black - £220 (think a rear shocker is goosed)
KW -60mm Springs - £100
HnR -60mm Rear Springs - £50
Koni Rear Shocks - £60

Are the injectors still around?

Also the GT inlet port matched to head???

So what exactly has been done to the inlet? Been polished or  carved up ?
Would i have issues bolting onto a standard head?

Cheers Danny.

What's a conversion going for these days out of interest? Engine, loom, box, driveshafts. Sorry to hijack, feel free to delete!

Whatever a seller is prepared to take and a buyer prepared to pay.

I wouldn't have taken any less than 2k for the full engine conversion, but individual parts always fetch a premium as they appeal to far more people.

You can pick them up cheap at times, but usually for a reason. There are very few non savvy g40 owners now.

did your g40 come out of a mk1 golf by any chance?

have you got mk1 golf conversion parts - like engine mount ?
was the manifold and downpipe adapted to fit mk1 golf?

mani was extended to meet the customised magnex stainless system that I had fitted to the golf.

engine mount was the supercharged polo mount, I modified the mk1 golf shelf to use the engine mounting point from a polo, which was removed and welded into the shell.

The gearbox mount is an amalgamation of a 4 speed mk1 golf mount and 5 speed polo mount. Your probably best welding these up yourself as my mount isn't of commercial quality and I wouldn't be happy selling it. There are pictures in my build threads, if you want to see it
