You can run the calipers, but you need a pair of pad carriers from an old audi 5 cyl coupe.

you can get vauxhall 256 redtop valva ones for £20 and they fit plus there better.

you use the red top calipers but buy different bolts for them. people sell the bolts on clubpolo,
you can buy the callipers and that from any scrap yard/breakers.

you need calipers and carriers from a :-
astra mk2 GTE 16v
cav GSI or SRI 16v 1991 on
astra mk3 GSI 1991 to 1996
maybe others ill ask my mate he is a vauxhall nut.

these.

disks for a mk2 golf 256mm gti.
yea the shoulder bolts from club polo.

if you wanted to you could fit 280's from a cav turbo or calibra turbo with G60 disks i think.

This sounds interesting! Supid question! Will they fit with the original 13" wheels or does one need to go to 14" or more?

depends on the wheels may fit under 13's but its hard to say all depends on the setup!

unless you have some really fancy 13's they wont go under them.

again should be fairly easy to get hold of i would of thought, have really been contenplating this for a while, however every time i tweak the rear drums up and adjust the hand brake i think the brakes are amazing again (well as amazing as they will ever get).

Hahahaha, I reckon you just drive to fast :-) only issue I have is that my mate has my 14’s and I have his 13’s, after a short conversation I don’t think he wants to swap back lol.

you'll be surprised what a difference good disks and pads make! so you can stick with your 239's.

Oh yes dont get me wrong i have good dics and pads, braided hoses dot 5:1 fluid and all new rear drums/shoes etc spent a lot on it all but a great improvement i think, just need to tweak the handbrake again as i have done 500 since all the new stuff but still i think they work well.
