Supercharger with carb
« on: February 18, 2009, 11:28:59 pm »
I've spotted a supercharger kit for an MGB (bargain £3K!) that uses a carb with an Eaton charger in a suck through arrangement (carb on the inlet of the charger so petrol/air mixture is compressed). Anyone know if getting petrol in an Eaton is recommended for the internal seals?

Mmm... That remids me Lancia B Volumex... It was using a Lysholm supercharger... The carb was before the supercharger and the air/fuel mixture was compressed...
Eaton and Lysholm chargers has no problem passing fuel from them because the don't have apex seals...
So it will work!

pretty sure lancia volumex superchargers are roots blowers not lysholm screws.

but if anything it makes your point more valid, since Eaton chargers are more like roots blowers than lysholm screws.

I guess he means the oil seals that are presumably on the ends of the shafts.
