Poly engine mount group buy
« on: September 16, 2009, 01:32:32 pm »
Hi,

I have set up another poly engine mount group buy, over one club polo.

They will be made by the same company that did the last lot

Price will be £69.50 to your door, for a set of 3, which is due to lower interest, so I can't get as good a price as previous.

Need at least one person from here to go ahead

looking to close this in a week, so the 23rd sept

cheers

Mark

The idea is that they are made out of polyurethane, which is harder than the standard rubber. This means that the engine will move less under load, and they should last longer that the standard ones.

This will be the 3rd group buy so there has been the demand and people seem happy with these.

I have never tested yet though myself, the set I had, I stupidly sold, hence setting up another group buy.

I am not looking to make any money out of this, more of a gentlemen’s agreemtn sold in good faith

Have you got the specs of the rubber being used for these mounts?

It's just Robin's engine moves alot more than mine on his uprated mounts...

Yes, it would be good to know the shore hardness of the rubber

Hi,

well these should be the same spec as the other group buys ghat have been run, whichhad a rating of 55, if I remember correctly.

I will check with the manufacture today and get the exact rating.

Hi,

I'm new to this group but i've just brought my old G40 back again this week and want to carry on where i left off with it!!

So i'm very interested in these engine mounts.

All i like to know is how you want me to pay you for them!!

Neil

P.S. i'll add a few pic of my G40 later this evening to the site

Hi and welcome Neil

I will stick your name down on the list:

Dekerf1996 - set of 3, plus a spare set of 3 (to get this going) = 6 (club polo)
AdrenalinSeeker - Set of 3 (club polo)
randombadger69 - 3 (club polo)
vwpete - set of 3 (club polo)
cheddarcheese - set of 3 (club polo)
G40 Estate power! - set of 3 (club polo)
Weeman - set of 3 (Club G40)
Jezza 7 - set of 3 (Club G40)
NeilB - set of 3 (club G40)

I will send out payment details once this has closed, but am wanting to collect monies around the end of the month, to allow people to be paid.

Now i have spoken to the manufacturer about the concerns of the hardness by Yoof, as on a high powered G the engine still has a bit of movement. They are currently rated at a hardness of .55 and i can get this increased but the real question is how much by.

Now this was the first issue i heard of, and Steve of PSD originally had a hand in the design and original discussions, so i don't know whether to get them made a little harder.

Any feedback from the people currently using them, is there too much movement?

Had an email from the company on Friday, he was trying to get them out last week but couldn't. He is hoping to get them finished this week for me, so i should have them by the weekend.

Hopefully get them packed over the weekend and posted out begining of next week :-)
