Title: Flywheel Lightening & Balancing
Post by: UJA on April 12, 2016, 05:38:15 pm
Hi chaps, I want to get my flywheel lightened and balanced for my G40, Im having no problem finding places that can lighten it, but struggling to find a place that can also balance it.

All Ive been told so far is that the only way I can get a place near me to balance it, is if I have a crank shaft for them to mount on they're machine which they can then zero and go on to balance the flywheel.

Does anyone have experience of getting this done and is this normal? Anyone have any suggestions on where I can get it done without having a spare crank?

Many thanks

Gary

I have had this done during the rebuild currently on going by Park engineering in malton.
Not sure why you just want the flywheel balanced on its own tho??
Everything needs to be bolted together to fully balance the bottom end.

I'm changing my clutch, that's the reason. I'm not pulling the bottom end apart, surely lots of people have fitted l&b flywheels on stock cranks? Just want to find out where I can get it done.
