Title: Brake regulator
Post by: dub-disaster on June 01, 2011, 08:45:22 am
Was trying to unstick mine and had to beat it alot with a hammer I'm afraid I may have damaged it, has any one hit one of these alot and hard to unstick it and had no problems when refitting ?? Or is it safer bet to just buy a new one ?

sounds like the bore maybe scored worse case. could probubally open it up as the piston bit sounds like ite been stuck or could have crap built up in it as there is no bleed valve on them.

would open it up put it in some diesil free it off. and then buy a new seal for the piston and reuse the dust boot on it.

might need to get it resleeved worse case .

but if you can get one for £15 2nd hand its not really worth the bother.

there are 2 versions early weird shaped body and late the bit square type (most common)

i ended up just refitting it it is freed up but it will need adjusting up to on a mot rolling road, if it is broken i will just fit a new one then didnt think it was worth spend £70-80 for a new one unless this one was definantly broken., thanks any way though
