re-arrange private taxi style
« on: January 30, 2009, 08:20:54 pm »
i've currently used robin's idea on moving my gauges to where the stereo was seated (cheers pal ;)), i made myself a plate which i cut three holes in to mount the gauges (still need one more gauge), this left me to find a new location for my stereo, as i don't smoke the best thing to do was get rid of the cigarette lighter end ash tray as its completely useless to me and try to get it in there, which i have managed after cutting away some of the dash.
what do you guy's think??

p.s Pete, afr gauge works fine ;)

Cheers Tom

looks kinda odd there but looks ok, easy to access i guess, mines in the glovebox, nicely hidden away although a bitch to get to whilst driving.

haha, don't mince your words dan, say what you see.

I'd have put it in the glove box I think though.  Although I've never really even bothered with a stereo in my g even when it was mydaily driver.

to be honest, i don't think you need a radio in a G cos you can't hear it anyway, i just wanted it for show. the damn thing don't work anyway

I wouldn't have done that, would go for the upper or lower glovebox.

I'd rather have no radio than butchering the dash.

I think I would too tbh, but it's a decent job.

I'm weighing up whether to can my head unit at the moment. If I do, I'll probably leave the speakers and wiring alone just in case. I could do with relocating (and replacing tbh) my boost gauge and getting oil pressure and temperature gauges in too.

tapes are in rnt they?? lol.
nah it might look complete bollocks but fuck reaching to the glove box for my radio (which don't work, lol) need it at my finger tips, which isn't in a bad place to be honest, i might have butcherd the dash but i didn't want the ciggy lighter anyway. i think i should have put the gauges where the radio now is instead of other way round, problem with me is do now think later. aw well fuck it, suppose i can't do anything about it now ???
well actually the plate i made to seat the gauges is an exact size fit for the stereo so a straight swap back now wouldn't be out of the question tho i think ill leave it cos i like to be different,  ;D in a good way lol.
Rock on tapes :D
