Saf on the 'original' charger are all parts ok? im more after the scroll and 1 half of the housing.

Also 'Lucas 54 Calipers stripped for powdercoating + seals + pistons and bolts' are these for a 256 conversion ? as ive got the audi carriers i need but thats it so far

jakeyboy, the calipers will fit the audi carriers, its the carriers that are the rare to get hold of parts, the lucas 54 calipers are found on many later vws, and lucas 60 twin pots on audi s2s and the like, they fit the same carrier but i think youd struggle with finding a decent MC and Servo setup, without going remote.

not split the charger dude, and also got a completely definately duff charger, but one half of the housing might be ok, pop down to the house, we can split them and you can have a looky =]

i meant you'd want a crazy remote servo if you went for the twin-pot calipers (lucas 60s)

i think the G i have now, has the standard servo on, I've not checked, but read posts of Jason, saying he had changed it, but wasnt impressed with it. I'll check what it is and report back, the pedal travel is long, but the brakes work VERY well, and that is really what you want, although I never had any complaints with a well sorted 239mm setup on either my old G or any of my Mk1 Golf GTI's!
