You've got a front mount, so this probably isn't much use. I'm planning to mount mine like this:

Yeah the intercooler takes up a fair bit of room. Andy/Yoof what are you running as you both have PSD FMIC's I think..

I think another common location on a mk3 is behind the bumpr, cutting out the passenger side fog light blank (thats is if you are not wearing fogs)

mine is mounted behind the bumper on the passenger side.  I've got a photo somewhere but I can't find it for love nor money!

Behind the bumper seems good as I dont have fog lights either.

Thats were I got mine, the mocal cooler fits snuggly on chassie rail.  I like this setp because it allows the oil to drain out to when you remove the filter and offtake plate at servicing, I alawys worry about leaving old oil trapped in the system somewhere :nerd:
You can either cut out your fog light to allow plently of cooling air, or perhaps just put a few stealthy holes, which is ample in my opinion!

yeah I just have the fog light holes cut out.  The air filter is behind the driver's side one.  Still can't find that bloody picture though!

The cooler is mounted to the bumper iron with some small brackets I made.

Pepsi Max for me in the garage, or a couple of bottles of beer if it's a friday or saturday night.

I'm still to mount mine! I reckon its atad larger than a mocal cooler so might be a tight fit!!

Is there an optimum size for an oil cooler on a G40? Dont wanna be overdoing it!

You should realy use a thermostatic take off plate so the oil only flows through the cooler when it reaches a cirtain temp that way it doesn't matter how big it is.

It'll have a spring and valvebuilt into it, normally got a large bolt head on the outside were the valve is installed.

you can use a vauxhall one like of a redtop or an old 2.0 8v engine.
they have a stat to controll them.
