Coolant expansion tank sensor 2 pin connector

<< < (3/3)

hayesey:
I suspect there'll be a break in the wire somewhere between the connector and the dash clocks, goes via the plugs on the back of the fuse box. The break will most likely be on the engine side since that's where the wires go through heat cycles and get brittle and break.

PeteG40:
the coolant tank does not work the temp gauge - only flashes if the level is too low. (short the wires and the light goes out)

the gauge runs from the black temp sender on the thermostat housing. (short the wires and the gauge goes to the top)

hayesey:
yeah I missed that part, the connector on the header tank is nothing to do with the temperature gauge it's simply a fluid level "sensor", it just forms a circuit in presence of coolant and no circuit if no coolant is present at that point in the header tank.

metalblue:
Well managed to replace the wiring and it’s working fine with that connector incase anyone else is looking for one
