Title: Fitting ARB blocks
Post by: dannyb.G40 on April 09, 2009, 11:25:02 pm
The method i'm using is to bolt the top half of the blocks in position, jack up the ARB and pull it forward as I do so to get it in the blocks. Once it is resting in place I jack the ARB up a bit more until the car starts lifting off the stands, then remove the bolts, put the rest on and try and put the bolts back in.

The problem comes as soon as i take the bolts out the blocks move, so i can put one of them back in but there is no way of getting the other bolt in.

Its really frustrating, does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks, Danny

Do you still have the TCA's connected to the struts ?

have you got the front wheels on the ground still?  Jack the whole front up so the wheels are in the air.

thanks for the replies, i had to cut out a bit of the block to compensate for the bolts, i also got some longer bolts from B & Q. The front ends really stiff now... leaving me with a twitchy back

I'd be a bit wary of using B&Q bolts on the ARB mounts mate. I doubt if they are quality enough. Might be better finding a local fastener supplier and getting some high tensile ones.
