Uprated Driveshaft group buy is on!
I used to sell these when PSD used to be around.
In a nut shell if you have an LSD or a powerful car that runs decent tyres on an open diff you'll certainly benefit from one of these. I've been running once since 2001 and never had any issues.
I would need to purchase in batches to 10x to get the price right down so the more merrier , no profit will be made from these at all.

1x Bare (Drivers side) offside uprated driveshaft
Turned from a single piece of steel and heat treated, all the work is carried out by professionals in the trade and holds a material manufactures defect guarantee.
2009 Prices: £136.50 inc VAT + £9 Postage and Packing
Bearing in mind that the last batch over 2 years ago was £135 delivered each so the supplier has done their best price. although I cannot gurantee if they can keep the prices so keen for the next batch.
I’d like to stress that NO profit is being made from this group buy. To buy these individually cost at least double the amount.
This is a one off group buy Quantity of 10+ are required before we can achieve this price. If we cannot achieve 10+ orders I will offer a full refund to everybody who has paid.
Lead time: Minimum of 6 weeks from order date.
The Group buy will close on March 30th 2009 so that give people plenty of time to put aside some money. This makes the shaft ready before for the summer season .
The driveshaft is proving difficult to come by and with the increasing manufacturing costs these will only become more expensive as time passes so get one now while you can!

Payments accepted are: Bank transfers, cash or cheque , PayPal can be accepted but please allow an additional 3.4% + 20 pence on the total for the associated PayPal fee.
To secure a driveshaft please add you name to the list and PM me, I will then supply you with the credentials to make the payment.

yea common let us in on a hint of a price ,
it will let a lot of others know wether its in there price range..

the old shafts where about 110 pound so ill guess at somewhere around that price prob about 130 now with metal worth more and labour. (at a guess)

99.999% sure it'll just be the bare shaft, new VAG CV joints alone would probably come to more than £110.
Karl will no doubt give some better info but as I remember it these shafts are a touch thicker than normal polo shafts but the crucial part is that they have a proper radius where the shaft reduces down to the splined section on the end which was the most common area for failure on normal shafts.

yea i remember these being for sale, bare shaft made out of alot harder metal and redesigned ends.
good value for money IMO.

I'm in the process of creating a document for the shaft which will include the new prices , this should answer most questions with detailed pictures. This will finished and completed this weekend . In the mean while i'll try and answer as many questions as I can.

do you realise it's only the longer shaft you get? So if you get two then you'll have a spare one. I've never heard of anyone breaking the shorter shaft (other than CV joint failures which is a different kettle of fish).

I hope no one has managed to break one of the shorter shafts they are a fair size compared to the longer shaft!! Maybe Sohailg40 just breaks longer shafts for fun lol... ;D

Just spoken to the supplier , We are looking at mid to late next week at the earliest before they get them back from heat treatment. I'll keep you updated as soon as I get more information.

anyone know the best place to get the bits for the bare shaft ? as vw told me over £100? maybe they didnt understand but if not does anyone have part numbers etc so i can get ordering new cheers ;D ???

Spoke the suppler at 12:00 and they said they should be expecting the today , however no phonecall yet and its getting late.

I chased this today , and its confirmed that heat treatment is complete and is on its way back to the supplier.
So these should be with me by Thurdsay as they need to go through quality control before i can collect these.

Well worth the investment these, not had any problems with mine from when i got it on the last group buy :)
Whilst tinkering around with different 085 gearboxes of late, i've noticed the later ones have a longer drivers side diff output flange. I would assume this is due to a shorter CV joint or driveshaft. People with late G40's avec CEK boxes might have this too. The flange can easily be swapped for the older version though ;)

Not yet fitted but fully shot peened painted with anti corrosive silver paint, top with 2 pack high temp hard lacquer and the ends are moly dag to ensure longevity and reduce wear.

Very nice indeed!!! what is your rally setup? do you have a project thread? I have a friend in spain preparing his 86c for rally and we are not sure as to whats best for rallying. We have doubts as to what diff is the best, what suspnsion to use, gearbox etc
