On the front of the oil pump, is there ment to be a braket of some sort??? there two threaded holes about 2 inches away from each other between the chain.  hows any one got a picture of this part and/or got one for sale?Huh

not really bud, its front view of the chain side, with out the end plate fitted

kool cheers bud, its ment to bolt inbetween the drive chain, in those two holes, any ideas?Huh??  i have this problem as i am piecing the whole engine togther as i started with a bare block Sad

just looked on vagcat, and am i right in thinking the part i am on about is only used of the 1w engine and not needed on th py engine???

Well, that pic is how mine was fitted mate (PY). I didn't have anything left over either.  Wink

And yes, looking at the ETKA that is 1W engine only.

Just fitted oil pump on my block this weekend, had the same head scratch and came to the conclusion it must be for "the 1w or something".

Checked the spec on chain tension. Haynes said 1.5-2.5mm defection. Seemed fairly snug.

haha yeah i sat looking at it for ages thinking wtf is ment to be there, cant remember taking anything off.  all sorted now though.
