I would say its rather you thats territorial about the inflated price, rather than the majority here who i believe are being helpful and honest - given that some people here have owned g40s 10+ years they know the car and the market for g40s more than anyone.

At 50k its potentially needing a cambelt, a supercharger service and who knows what else (how old are the tyres/exhaust etc)

I'd say good luck with the sale, but I think you will need another Lord to get anyone to part with £6k for it.

if we are 'kerbside motor experts'  then you must be a 'frank butcheresque carlot dealer'

Nail on head. Very optimistic even at 5 grand

Now advertised at £5k. Should we have a sweepstake to see what it drops to before selling?

Yeah lets get one going.

I reckon it wont sell for more than 3k though.

it says on description, front fog lights and color coded bumpers.. maybe they are as spare atm.

it reminds me one of pete's g40 that he sold a while back when i start seeing this forum.

thats a nice car. hope it sells to someone who loves it as it is!

Bad attitude from the seller... clearly.  I wouldn't even bother seeing it without an engine picture, I certainly wouldn't pay that either.  I'd pay that for a genuine sub 10k mileage car.  I'd say 2800 for this.

Ah this made me chuckle. Thanks for dropping me in it Alex  Grin - hes probably going to hunt me down now!!

Makes me laugh he/she seems to want to advertise it on (forum) or to "enthusiasts" and seems to think that they would pay well over the odds for it even if they believed it was overpriced. Tut tut kerbsiders - we should all go kick a few more G40 tyres!! If they hold out for that sort of money it can only mean they paid far too much for it. I recon someone will give £3500 for it somewhere in the land!

Who wants another sweep stake on how many more than posts we will see from this user??  Currently on 4.  My guess - No more.

PS - IF YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED IN BUYING THE VEHICLE PLEASE DO NOT COMMENT ON THE POST  Cheesy  Cheesy  Cheesy

Thought I'd revive this thread.
I'm in the market for a low mileage G40 at the moment and remembered that this one was for sale a while ago.
Guess what? It still is. The price is still at £5000 aswell.
I thought if I could get it for <£3500 it wouldn't be a bad deal. However, after contacting the dealer to see how negotiable he is with the price, seeing as he's had it for sale for such a long time, I got a reply saying please arrange a test drive with nothing relating to any of the questions I asked!

Seems to me he's going to have this G40 a veeeery long time!

The drivers seat bolster looks a little worn for 50k?

I am pleased to say the car is now sold for the full asking price. I am sure you will all welcome the chap that has bought it and help him along with any questions that he has about the car. He is a very keen G40 man and will surely be joining the site before long.

I stand to be corrected by the new owner, but the only way that sold for £5000, is with £2000 in used 20's stashed in the glovebox.
