Charger seals
«

I took the G40 off the road last march, mainly because the intercooler was filling up with oil and the smoke from the exhaust was horrendous!
Excesive oil was also being thrown out of the throttle body, so i thought ....charger seals.
Darren at G-Werks rebuilt the charger and i put it back on the car but due to a suspension and brake rebuild i didnt use the car until 2 weeks ago.
i drove the car to the MOT station (Where it passed).
On the way home the same thing happened........smoke, oil etc.
I took the charger and Intercooler off today and they were literally FULL of oil!
Any ideas anyone?
I have tried phoning G-Weks for the last 2weeks but no answer.
The only thing i can think it could be is the charger seals again?

they will have done the seals, but its quite common for them to go when first serviced
Did you run the charger in?

Yep, i kept the revs low and took a real steady ride to the MOT station.
I'm running the boost return mod, do you think that will make a difference?

I run the mod and my seals were fine but have experienced a problem that sounds similar to yours. I ran the charger in for 500 miles before boost etc and then about a month ago (having done 5k since rebuild) my charger was kicking out soo much oil that my dipstick was dry. Couldnt find out what is was so asked on here what the problem was. Pete said sounds like the seals are weeping oil. Someone then mentioned about the breather pipe being blocked or kinked. So when i went back out i checked it all and gave everything a wiggle and then after that it was all fine. Problem was a trapped breather pipe. So i would make sure your breather pipe isnt kinked or blocked etc as if the crank pressure cant escape properly it will find the weakest point and apparently the charger seals are the weakest point. Then drive off boost for a few more miles to let the charger seals bed in.
