First off apologies if this is in the wrong section.

I have a highly tuned G40 engine currently in a GT shell.
I had it rolling road tuned by Jabbasport and it made 188BHP on their rollers with the standard 6500RPM limit.
It ran a 14.45s 1/4 mile at santapod with the standard box (before the dif went) with all the trim and seats still fitted.

It's running 1360cc pistons (yes this isn't a typo)
Fully rebuilt bottom end
ported and flowed head
51mm Throttle Body
Jabba R1 Charger
Toothed Pulleys
G60 injectors
and the list goes on.

I am thinking about breaing the car and getting a MK4 R32 so need to guage on 1st if anyone would be interested in the engine and  2nd how much someone would be willing to pay for it.
I would be looking for arround £2500 for the engine including the toothed pulleys and 4 branch (not including ATV box as the diff has blown)

I look forward to any inquires or questions.

Engine is running (albeit in a tatty shell) and could possibly be test driven.

ps i guess all other parts inc loom etc would be available if the engine goes.

Is that £2500 for just the engine above, no shell?

If so I would knock about £1500 off your price!

would be everything needed to make the engine run.
Has JE Forged pistons and a fully balanced bottom end.

As i said this was a feeler for interest and price.

Full spec is available as too is pictures.

Most Chargeed G40's only produce this sort of BHP by increasing the Limiter to 8k

Does seem a bit steep dude. Even with the spec. There's a 1341 R1 charged whole G40 on here for £1500.

If it came with the car etc it might be worth £2.5k. I can't see you getting anywhere near that for just the lump though. You may find it's cheaper (but possibly slower to shift it all) for buyers to split the lot into parts, eg. Bare engine on its own, charger on its own and so on...... you'd probably see a better return but as I said, ay have to wait for the right time for buyers. You've also got Christmas coming up = no money and the 5-6 week gap between getting paid for Xmas and end of Jan, plus all the crap about the recession, etc so a lot of people are watching their money around about now.

Full spec is

Re-Bore to 1360 cc with JE forged Pistons with a 9:1 CR
Fully rebuilt bottom end inc pump etc
Crank was balanced as too were rods
Steel head gasket
ported and flowed head
GT inlet manifold port matched to head
51mm Throttle body
Had a new Dizzy at point of rebuild
Custom intake with Front mount intercooler
Jabba R1 charger
PSD Toothed pullies
PSD custom newman cam
G60 Injectors
Jabbasport Custom Remap
PSD 4 branch
Flywheel was lightened and balanced with - helix uprated clutch

The re mapped ECU isnt really any use to anyone without the engine in the current setup.
as i said it produced 188bhp on the RR. I think i'd rather keep the engine complete.

The car has FK coilovers, willwood 4 pots and 280mm discs, pollybushes all round and braided hoses.
only thing thing that i never got around to getting was a rollcage.
The shell is a GT but once i drove a G40 i had to have that engine in my car.
I have spent a few years looking for a G40 shell to transplant everything into with no reall success. I spent years modifying my car and eventually decided i just wanted a plain simple standard shell G40.
I know that the polo shell isnt any different but when i comes to selling a G they're always worth more original.

As i started this thread it was a feeler to guage price and interest, If someone has a serious offer and is actually interested.... Make me an offer i cant refuse.  Wink
If i end up keeping it i'll stick a LSD in the box and strip it for track use.

I would be very interested for that price as a whole working car if I were looking to buy. But I already have an original one I'd have to sell first, so probably not gonna happen realistically!
