yea if you can give newman a ring yoof that'll be spot on!
i like the idea of a schrick but i think thats a bit expencive,

surely newman want to sell some cams!!!
i find alot to do with G40's secretive and seems to be everything you buy for them is over priced
and you wait a stupid amount of time for something to be deliverd!

I'd be very very very wary of giving Steve Pitt any money at all guys. (Read Eekie's thread on Club Polo)

Have you got a link to that Pete?

Agree with Lance, get a part number from your cam and give Newman a call would be great Pete.
Thanks in advance,
Richard.

Agreed, this has been a very helpful thread. Especially regarding the camshafts required for going turbo.  Was going to put mine on with a standard G40 cam, however I’m thinking of delaying fitment now.

***If there's a group buy going to happen for either a Newman / Schrick turbo specific camshaft then I'm interested.***

Dubpolishers:  If you're after buying it all in one shot..  you can from here:  http://www.emtec-racing.de/Turbokits.htm
€1550 is on the steep side considering you can put a kit together for <£800 by using some 2nd hand parts,  but I thought it was worth it as it’s top notch quality and includes all oil & water lines, hoses, brackets, clips etc.   It all adds up!
LregG has the manifold on his beige beast and looked might impressive.   Looks even better in the metal Cheesy Mine came with a KKK K03 turbo + plate to fit to their equal length manifold & I had an up-rated fuel pump too.  Looks like they’ve canned the KKK K03 option now, as was about €70 more & the plate to fit it to the manifold was €20. Will get some pics taken & posted up.

PS.  Off topic, but check out their Audi S2 (5cyl) manifold… work of art!!

PPS.  what do you guys make of this: http://www.bar-tek-tuning.de/lshop,showdetail,2004g,e,1234956743-1614,1169360067.1204708405,2140058,,Tshowrub--1169360067.1204708405,.htm

you can get the manifold for €400,  but think the down pipe is part of the kit only.
By all means email them to check though.

Hi,
When you say you have put a G40 into a GTi do you mean the 6N2? if so how did you do it? was there many modifications to be made to engine mounts etc?

Thanks, Stu

I've not heard of anyone using an AAV cam, no idea what the specs it are.  A GT cam is your best bet for one but not ideal.  One of the proper turbo specific ones from Catcams, Newman or Schrick are best.
