Hi!

I'm thinking about buying a turbokit from emtec for my G40 :

http://www.emtec-racing.de/Turbokits.htm

It says that it comes with revised engine software, and all components needed.

I'm most skeptical about the turbo. It seems a little to cheap to be of a good quality, or what? Undecided

Anyone here ever bought the same kit?

Regards,

Tomzern

Be prepared to modify most/all the kit.

The only original component I have is the manifold, the rest sits in a box on the shelf, as it doesn't fit...

He replied to me the other day, said he had been on a vacation.

Out of interest, which bit's didn't fit?  It seems odd to sell a kit like this that just doesn't fit!

It does indeed!

First off the manifold requires a smaller oil filter (especially if you have an oil cooler take off plate) and heat shielding between the oil filter and manifold (it's very close)

Second the downpipe is a laugh, points stright into the block/sump and doesn't fit.

Oil banjos are wrong for the BB Turbos (needs an expensive £30 banjo, not included)

Water lines require modification to fit (the ends)

Boost pipes I didn't even bother with the stuff he sent....

Only parts worth having are the intercooler, and the manifold. But be prepared to modify parts.

It's an expensive way to get an intercooler and a manifold then.

I got that intercooler off yoof and even that needs to be modified slightly, well chassis does but im talking like shaving metal with an angle grinder so not a lot. Good intercooler though.

Aye my custom one did too Jezza, must be a standard length of core.

Alex- yeah, slightly annoying as it's sold as a kit- manifolds are well made, as is the intercooler, it's just the rest!
